YORK RESTAURANTS

The City Centre is 8.4 miles, or a 25 minute drive, from the annex. There, you will find the following places to eat or enjoy a night out in York!

If driving you have a number of options for parking, park & ride is one but we prefer to use one of the following car parks: Sainsbury’s on Foss Bank (YO31 7J) - tip if you go to the shop and spend over £10 they refund all of your parking!  Or at Bootham Row (although more expensive I found it the closest to the City Centre and you pretty much drive straight from Sutton on the Forest to the car park, reducing hassle).  Marygate Car Park (YO30 7DT) at the other side of the road takes payment when you return to the vehicle so there is no guessing how long you will be.

YORK BARS

There are a lot of bars in York and so many different nights out can be had that it is difficult for us to recommend where you should go, it will depend greatly on your age, preferences in terms of music and style.  We tend to visit The Botonist, Bobo Lobo’s, Bora Bora, D’Vine, Biltmore and Vudu (which is a nightclub open till 4am).  Another popular choice for early evening as they have a balcony is Missoula but there is a little walk from here to the bars mentioned above.
